As for samples to use in Slate Trigger I really enjoy this setup, and it doesn't require you buying any extra samples other than the ones already mentioned. That way you'll have the best of both worlds. My recommendation would be to get SD + Metal Foundry and then later down the line buy Slate Trigger 2 Platinum.
The MIDI pack that comes with Metal Foundry also happens to be fantastic. As you can hear the cymbals are definitely still good but they took quite a lot of work compared to Metal Foundry's cymbals, which are practically good to go out of the box. The kick and snare have been replaced with other direct and room samples and everything was mixed outside of Superior. Here's a sound sample of Metal Machinery's cymbals, rooms and toms. There are some good Combined Presets from good producers in the box when you buy Superior but to be honest it was made to be mixed properly in your DAW, not in Superiors own mixer.
